Nerve Conduction Test/ Electromyography (NCT/ EMG)

NCT/ EMG are tests used for diagnosis of neuropathy, a condition that presents with muscle numbness, weakness and incoordination. NCT and EMG could be done alone or done together to help in assessment. For NCT, it measures the nerves respond by stimulating the nerves by electoral impulses. For EMG, it measures the electrical activity of muscle at rest and during contraction by putting a EMG needle into particular muscle.
